Bratan. It got really bright suddenly. Couldn’t really see if it was you up there. Tomorrow we climb the Sun together. I promise.

In order to properly access Microsoft Live Hotmail using Firefox 2 there are some extensions that can be installed and configured.

  1. User Agent Switcher by Chris Pederick. Get it from Firefox Add-ons. Microsoft blocks Firefox 2, but allows Firefox 1.5, so it should be configured with the following user agent:
    • Description:
      Firefox 1.5.0.7 (Windows XP)
    • User Agent:
      Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.8.0.7) Gecko/20060909 Firefox/1.5.0.7
    • Free Image Hosting at www.ImageShack.us
    • Here is the User Agent Switcher 0.6.10 default configuration you can import, including the Firefox 1.5.0.7 user agent.
  2. Next advertisements need to be blocked, which will greatly improve the speed of Hotmail, using Adblock Plus by Wladimir Palant. Get it from Firefox Add-ons. Please import the filter from here, or add the following two URLs to filters:
  3. Finally, BlockSite by Erik van Kempen. Get it from Firefox Add-ons. By going to Add-ons from the Tools menu & selecting Options for the BlockSite extension, only one URL should be added:
    • Free Image Hosting at www.ImageShack.us

Now you can activate your Firefox 1.5.0.7 (Windows XP) user agent and safely enjoy the full version of Windows Live Hotmail using Firefox 2. Use the link in the bottom section, “Want to race through your inbox even faster? Try the full version of Windows Live Hotmail. (It’s free, too.)” & get to your new inbox :)
